Professor Yannis Marinakis, Director of the Laboratory, as well as the Laboratory’s former Directors, Professor Evangelos Grigoroudis and Professor Nikolaos Matsatsinis, are consistently included in the bibliometric study conducted by John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, which ranks the top 2% of scientists worldwide. This ranking is based on a range of indicators focused on the impact of their published work, both over the previous year and across their entire academic careers. The evaluation considers data from more than 8,000,000 scientists globally.
The broader annual assessment conducted by the Stanford University team is based on the impact of published research, specifically on the number of citations each scientist has received, provided they have at least five published works, according to the Scopus database.

Two members of the Laboratory -Yannis Marinakis and Magdalene Marinaki - has been awarded as Highly Ranked Scholars Lifetime based on Scholargps: Mathematical Optimization (164, 263 respectively among 822415 scholars, 0.02% - Highly Ranked Scholar Lifetime) (are eminent authors whose Top Percentage Ranks places them above 0.05 % of all scholars due to highly significant impact and quality of their scholarly contributions based on lifetime contributions in the field).
Assistant Professor Eleftherios Siskos has received the Bernard Roy Award 2023 by the European Working Group (EWG) on Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding (MCDA). The ceremony took place at the opening session of the MCDA-96 conference, held in Paris, on September 21st 2023.
The Bernard Roy Award of the EWG MCDA is a recognition conferred yearly to a researcher, under 40 years old, for an outstanding contribution to the methodology and/or applications of MCDA. The EWG MCDA bestowed Eleftherios Siskos the Bernard Roy Award for his theoretical research on Robustness Analysis in MCDA and his diverse decision support applications, focusing principally on Energy Planning and e-government.
