Brief CV

Andreas Samaras was born in Kastoria, Greece in 1970.  He received his diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1995 from Aristotle’s University of Thessalonica and, in 1998, his M.Sc degree in Production Engineering and Management from the Technical University of Crete.  

He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, of the Hellenic Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Society, of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Making, and the EURO Working Group on Multicriteria Aid for Decisions and Financial Modelling.

He acts as reviewer for scientific journals and books, and he is co-author of a large number of research reports and journals in scientific journals and conference proceedings referring to the analysis of consumer behaviour and decision support systems. He has participated in the organisation of many scientific conferences and he has several presentations in scientific conferences.

From 1999 to 2008 he has been assisting in several courses in the School of Production Enginnering and Management of the Technical University of Crete (Methodology of Computing, Algorithms and Data Structures, Decision Support Systems, Knowledge and Decision Engineering). He has a rich teaching experience participating as a lecturer in numerous training seminars.

Since 1995, he has conducted several studies and market research for business enterprises and organisations, and he has participated in a large number of research projects in national and European level working as research associate of the Decision Support Systems Laboratory of the Technical University of Crete, Greece.

Since 2008 he is working in the Decision Support Systems Laboratory of the Technical University of Crete.  He supports the laboratory exercises in the courses of Programming Methodology (DPEM 101) and Electronic Business (DPEM 230). He is also the administrator for the asynchronous e-learning platform of the Technical University of Crete (eclass).
