Brief CV

Evangelos Grigoroudis was born in Flörsheim, Germany, in 1968. He received his diploma in Production and Management Engineering, in 1991, and he followed postgraduate studies in Technical University of Crete, Greece, from where he received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees, in 1996 and 1999, respectively, in the fields of decision sciences and operational research.

Since September 2013, he is an Associate Professor on “Management of Quality Processes” in the Department of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete, Greece. He has taught in the Department of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete, Greece (1999-2002) and in the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Crete, Greece (2000-2002). He has also a rich teaching experience participating as a lecturer in numerous training seminars.

Since 1991, he has conducted several studies and market researches for business enterprises and organisations, and he has participated in a large number of research projects in national and European level.

He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Hellenic Operational Research Society-HELORS (board member and national representative in EURO and IFORS), the HELORS’ Working Group on Multicriteria Decision Systems, the Production Management Institute of the Hellenic Business Administration Society, the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Society for Quality (senior member), the International Society on Multiple Criteria Making, and the EURO Working Groups on Multicriteria Aid for Decisions and Financial Modelling. He is mentioned in the Mathematical Sciences Who is Who and in the Marquis Who is Who in the World. He has received honourable mentions from HELORS for the years 2008-2009, and best paper awards from the World Automation Congress and the Academy of Business and Administrative Sciences. Furthermore, he has received scholarships from the Ioannis and Vasileia Karayianni Foundation, the Technical University of Crete, and the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece.

He acts as reviewer for more than 50 scientific journals, and he is associate editor of the Operational Research: An International Journal, International Journal of Decision Support Systems, Journal of Knowledge Economy, International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development, The Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Journal of Technology, Innovation and Education and member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journals: International Journal of Information and Decision Sciences, International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector, International Journal of Multicriteria Decision Making.

He is author/editor of 10 books on the measurement of service quality, the business strategy and management, and the multicriteria decision aid approaches, as well as of a significant number of research reports and papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He has participated in the organisation of many scientific conferences and he has numerous presentations in scientific conferences.

His research interests include service quality measurement processes, customer and employee satisfaction, performance evaluation, business excellence, operational research (evaluation methodologies and techniques), multicriteria decision analysis, data analysis (qualitative data analysis methods), and marketing (market and customer satisfaction surveys).
